The Binary Language of Moisture vaporators

Started work on a moisture vaporator, which can mostly be seen populating the desert world of Tatooine. Below is my highpoly!

Here are some concepts I'm working from:

Here is my final French Blue Door!

The final version! With the concept that I used. This was a good mix of hard surface and hand sculpted surfaces. I had a lot of fun creating this little scene!

Concept:

Trying to make my french door look better! I desaturated the door and added in a lot more deterioration to the bottom. I also tried playing around with lighting, but this particular lighting makes the scene look a lot more blurry, so I'm going to tweak it some more.

The Blue Door

I've been working on this project for a few weeks, and I feel I'm very close to being done!

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

I'm working on a little project that is based off of a french door design in Paris. I'm close to finishing the highpoly, but still have a ways to go!

Here is the most recent version of my tree.  I'm also showing off a rock I made, and some flowers!  I'm going to start working on the terrain texture and some grass tuft models to add in there too.

Weirwood update

I've been working on my sculpt some more, and was finally satisfied with what I have. I made a leaf/branch texture and put them all into UDK to see what it looked like. This is a first look!

Weirwood Tree

I've been trying to work in mudbox! This is my very first hand sculpted thing ever, so I'm trying to take my time with it. I decided to do a weirwood tree from Game of Thrones. In the book it is said that they have very smooth bark and its white as bone, but I think I'm going to go with a more textured/realistic look.

The final screenshots of the scene, along with some highpolies.  I decided to make a different light for my scene.  After making the one from the concept, I decided it didn't tie into the scene very well.

arena net environment test

Arena net had an environment art test for their 2013 class, but deleted the entry requirements not long after they posted them up!!  I was halfway through my entry when I saw they had extended the due date to November 14, letting me complete this at a more relaxed paced.  When I went to check the date again it said November 16, and the Environment test portion was gone.  I decided to complete the house anyway!
The rules were:
-no more than 3000 polys
-up to 2 1024s for textures
The concept included:

My Environment Art entry:
-2545 polys
-1 1024x1024 and 2 256x256

logo!

I made a logo for my sister's baking site http://honeybeebakingcompany.com/

Thursday, September 13, 2012

I decided to change the floor texture to make the wood be realistically parallel to the structure of the ship rather than perpendicular.  Updated most textures, remade the wooden grates, and added a "glow" to the lanterns.
